“Instant messenger for Java enabled phones”

Jimm is an ICQ clone for mobile devices with J2ME (MIDP) technology. It connects directly to the ICQ network via GPRS or UMTS connections

With jimm you can chat with friends over the internet. The free software supports the popular measuring close service ICQ and runs owing to Java on many different mobile telephones.

Before installation, you have to unzip the jimm program on a PC and you then transfer the five Java files to your mobile.

As well as the ability to send text messages, you can also send and receive files to frends and contacts.

This messenger service has the edge on the others because the java function enables it to do things other can't - and best of all the Java app is free.

There are software compatibility problems with Nokia 3650, 6800, 7210, 7250, 7250i, 7650, N-Gage, N-Gage QD, Siemens C55, SX-1, Sony Ericsson T610, P800

The authors do not give exact data o compatibility but it should work on all Java compatible mobile phones with 250 kilobytes free in the main memory. Softonic cannot guarantee the compatibility with individual devices however.
